Brady was instrumental in completely reconstructing the sixty-year-old diamond interchange in the Salida community in Stanislaus County. After the area experienced a surge in growth, the dated interchange ramps and overcrossing experienced severe traffic congestion during peak traffic hours. In addition, the SR 99 bridge had a substandard traffic clearance that required replacement. Brady and his team strategically addressed project challenges that included the construction of a new storm drain pump station and storage boxes under the freeway, bridge foundations in shallow groundwater conditions, and stage construction and traffic handling that included closing SR 99 for the demolition of the old bridge. The completed interchange has wider on and off-ramps (including new drainage systems), an improved bridge with additional travel lanes, and a structure that meets modern seismic standards. The collective effort reduced traffic congestion and created a safer, long-lasting interchange in the developing community.
